Meet Mahima

Mahima Chauhan

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), CRPO #20325

Mahima offers individual and couples psychotherapy. She supports adults navigating anxiety, stress, self-criticism, relationship and family concerns, grief, life transitions, self-esteem, and questions around identity and purpose.

She offers care in English, Gujarati, and Hindi, both in person and virtually. Language-matched care is specific to each clinician, not the whole practice. Read abouttherapy in Gujarati andtherapy in Hindi.

Mahima believes therapy should feel like a space where you can be honest about what you are going through without fear of judgment. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and her goal is to make that first step feel a little easier.

In session

A conversation you are actively part of.

Mahima takes a collaborative, person-centred approach. Rather than believing there is one right way to do therapy, she works with each client to find an approach that feels meaningful and comfortable for them. She wants clients to feel that therapy is a conversation they are actively part of, rather than a place where they are simply given advice or solutions.

She brings curiosity and compassion into her work and encourages clients to approach themselves with the same kindness they would offer someone they care about, in the belief that meaningful change often begins with feeling truly understood.

Areas of support

Individual and couples support for emotional and relational concerns.

Anxiety and stress

Support for worry, overwhelm, and pressure, and for finding steadier ways to respond when it all runs high.

Self-esteem and self-criticism

Space to understand a harsh inner voice and build a kinder, more workable relationship with yourself.

Relationships, couples, and family

Work with individuals and couples on communication, understanding one another, and navigating relationship and family concerns.

Grief, transitions, and identity

Support through loss, changing roles, and questions around identity and purpose, toward greater self-awareness and connection.

Looking beyond behaviours

Experience with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.

Mahima holds a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and brings over seven years of experience working in Applied Behaviour Analysis, supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Those experiences taught her the importance of looking beyond behaviours or symptoms and taking the time to understand the person and the experiences underneath them.

Applied Behaviour Analysis is part of Mahima's prior clinical experience. Her psychotherapy approach is integrative and person-centred, using the modalities listed below according to each client's needs and preferences.
