How it works

Online therapy in Toronto, step by step.

Start with a free 15-minute consultation to ask about fit, fees, availability, and the clinician's approach. If you decide to continue, you will receive the information needed to book and join your first appointment through Jane.

For each session, join from a private, stationary place using a reliable connection and a device with a camera. You meet with the same clinician rather than moving through a rotating roster. Online sessions are available across Toronto and throughout Ontario.

What we work with

Concerns Toronto clients may bring to therapy.

From Toronto

Online from anywhere in Toronto, in person in Mississauga.

Most Toronto clients work with us online: from a condo in Liberty Village, a house in the Junction, a shared apartment near Yonge and Eglinton, or a booked meeting room downtown at lunch. Sessions run through Jane, a PHIPA-compliant Canadian platform, and evening slots exist because the TTC and the Gardiner take enough of the day already.

If you would rather be in the room, the office at 6700 Century Ave in Mississauga is about 30 to 40 minutes from Etobicoke, High Park or Bloor West via the 427 and 401 outside rush hour, with the 401 and 403 close by. Some west-end clients come in person for the first few sessions and move online once the work has a rhythm. Couples from Toronto have their own page: couples therapy in Toronto.

Why Toronto

Ontario-wide care, without a downtown commute.

Living in Toronto does not limit you to a clinician with a downtown office. CRPO-registered clinicians can provide online psychotherapy to clients located across Ontario, which can make it easier to choose based on fit rather than commuting distance.

Anchor & Bloom is a small practice. You can review each clinician's exact designation and profile before booking, then meet the same clinician for ongoing sessions when you decide to continue and scheduling permits.

Crisis support

If you need help right now.

Anchor & Bloom is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis in Toronto, the following are available:

  • 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline: call or text 988, 24/7
  • Gerstein Crisis Centre: 416-929-5200 (24/7 mobile crisis)
  • Toronto Rape Crisis Centre: 416-597-8808 (24/7 crisis line)
  • Any Toronto hospital ER. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

Common questions about online therapy in Toronto.

How do I find an online therapist in Toronto?

Check the clinician's exact designation and registration status in the CRPO public register. Then compare their training, areas of practice, fees, availability, and approach with what you are looking for. Anchor & Bloom offers a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask these questions before booking a therapy session.

Can a therapist located outside Toronto work with me online?

Yes. A CRPO registrant authorized to practise in Ontario can provide online psychotherapy to a client located in Toronto. Anchor & Bloom's clinicians work with clients across Ontario by secure video. In-person appointments are available in Mississauga by appointment.

What do I need for a private online therapy session?

Use a private, stationary space where you will not be overheard, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera. Headphones may help with privacy. Do not attend a session while driving.

What happens during the free consultation?

The 15-minute consultation is a chance to describe what you are looking for at a high level, ask about the clinician's approach, discuss practical details, and decide whether you want to book a first session. It is not a therapy appointment and does not commit you to ongoing care.

Is online therapy the right format for everyone?

No single format fits everyone. Suitability depends on your needs, privacy, safety, internet access, and comfort with video. A consultation can help you discuss whether online sessions fit or whether another form of support would be more appropriate.

How much do sessions cost for Toronto clients?

Individual sessions are $160 to $180 for 50 minutes. Couples sessions are $200 for 50 minutes or $290 for 80 minutes. Coverage varies by plan and clinician, so confirm directly with your insurer before booking. Receipts are provided, and psychotherapy is exempt from GST/HST in Canada.
