Why Mississauga

Couples in Mississauga and Peel Region.

Mississauga couples rarely have a scheduling problem in common with each other. One partner is on the 403 at 7 am, the other is home with a toddler in Churchill Meadows, or both are shift-working out of the airport corridor. The pattern we see most is not a lack of love but a lack of an hour that belongs to the two of you. Evening in-person slots and online sessions exist for exactly that reason, and many couples alternate: in person when the week allows, online when it does not.

Peel is also among the most multilingual regions in Canada, and a lot of couples here are holding two families, two cultures, or two faiths inside one household. Sessions can run in English, Farsi, Gujarati or Hindi with the clinicians who speak those languages, and the work takes family expectations seriously as a real force in the relationship rather than an obstacle to it.

What we work on

The patterns couples bring.

The same argument on repeat

One partner pursues, the other withdraws, and the topic changes but the shape never does. We slow the cycle down until both of you can see it from the outside.

Repair after a rupture

Trust that took a hit, from a betrayal or from years of small misses. Repair is deliberate work, and it is possible when both partners want it.

Parallel lives

Two competent people running a household like a logistics company, with the closeness leaking out the sides. Common in dual-career and new-parent couples.

Two families, two cultures

Interfaith, intercultural and immigrant partnerships where the pull of family expectations lands unevenly on each of you.

Before the wedding

Pre-marital work on money, children, faith, in-laws and conflict style, before those conversations become emergencies.

Deciding whether to stay

Discernment work when one or both of you is unsure. The goal is clarity you both own, not a verdict from us.

How it starts

The first few weeks.

It begins with a free 15-minute consultation, ideally with both of you on the call. You describe what brought you here, we describe how we work, and you decide whether the fit feels right. Nobody is assessed and nothing is decided on that call.

Most couples book the 80-minute session for the first appointment. Fifty minutes is enough to maintain momentum later, but rarely enough to get a full picture of two people at the start. From there a weekly or biweekly rhythm is typical, reviewed together as the work settles.

Your therapist takes no sides in session. The client is the relationship, and the work is with the pattern between you rather than with either person's list of grievances.

Crisis support

If one of you needs help right now.

Anchor & Bloom is not a crisis service. If either of you is in crisis in Mississauga, the following are available:

  • Suicide Crisis Helpline: call or text 988 (24/7, Canada-wide)
  • Talk Suicide Canada: 1-833-456-4566 (24/7), text 45645 (4 pm to midnight ET)
  • Peel Crisis Capacity Network (Mobile Crisis Team): 905-278-9036
  • Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital emergency department: 100 Queensway West
  • If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911

Common questions from couples in Mississauga.

Where is the Mississauga office, and is there parking?

The office is at 6700 Century Ave, Unit 347, in the Meadowvale business area near the 401 and 403. It is a shared professional building, and the suite is staffed during posted hours.

Can we do some sessions in person and some online?

Yes. Many Mississauga couples start in person and move online once the work has a rhythm, or the reverse. Online sessions run through Jane, a PHIPA-compliant Canadian platform, with both partners on the same call from the same room or from two locations.

Do you offer couples therapy in Farsi, Gujarati or Hindi?

Yes. Rashin Heydari-Alamdari offers couples sessions in Farsi and English. Mahima Chauhan offers couples sessions in Gujarati, Hindi and English. Julia Malynka offers online couples sessions in Russian, Ukrainian and English. Both partners do not need to share the same first language for this to work; sessions can move between languages as needed.

How much does couples therapy cost in Mississauga?

Couples sessions are $200 for 50 minutes or $290 for 80 minutes. Psychotherapy is HST-exempt. The 15-minute consultation is free. Receipts come through Jane and direct billing through TELUS eClaims is available where the plan supports it, though some plans treat couples sessions differently from individual therapy, so check first.

What if only one of us wants to come?

That is common and it is a reasonable place to start. One partner can book an individual session to talk through what they want from couples work, or you can book the free consultation together with no commitment. If a partner is not ready, we will not push, and we will say so honestly rather than let a lopsided first session happen.

Start with one calm conversation.

The 15-minute couples consultation is free and has no obligation.
