Fees, insurance & claims

Direct billing, stated precisely.

Direct billing means the clinic submits the claim so you may not pay the full fee up front. It only works when the clinician, the insurer, and the plan all allow it. We confirm that when you book. We do not promise reimbursement.

What we can do today.

  • Katelyn Matias, RP: registered with TELUS eClaims. She can direct bill many participating plans when the plan rules allow it.
  • Daniella Simas Medeiros and Julia Malynka: Jane receipts for you to submit.
  • Sun Life: not on TELUS eClaims. Pay through Jane and submit the receipt in the Sun Life portal. See Sun Life coverage.
  • Everyone else: ask us when you book. If direct billing is not available, the receipt path still works.

How a session is paid.

Book the consultation or session first. The Mississauga office is staffed during published hours and still requires an appointment. After a session with Katelyn, we check whether your plan can be submitted through TELUS eClaims. If it can, the claim goes in that way. If it cannot, you pay through Jane and download the receipt.

Direct billing does not decide whether a plan covers a Registered Psychotherapist or a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). That wording lives in your booklet. Confirm it before you count on reimbursement. Two clinicians here practise in the Qualifying category.

Common questions about direct billing.

Can Anchor & Bloom direct bill my insurance?

Sometimes. Katelyn Matias, RP, can submit claims through TELUS eClaims when your insurer and plan participate. Daniella and Julia currently provide Jane receipts for you to submit. Direct billing is a payment convenience, not a guarantee that a plan will pay.

Does Sun Life work with TELUS eClaims?

No. Sun Life left TELUS eClaims in 2022 and uses its own claims process. If you have Sun Life, you pay through Jane and submit the receipt in the Sun Life member portal.

Do I still need to book an appointment?

Yes. Direct billing does not change how care starts. Book a consultation or session first. The office in Mississauga is staffed during published hours and sees clients by appointment.

Ask us to check your plan when you book.

The 15-minute consultation is the simplest place to do that.
